Music Portfolio
Hi everyone! I have been composing since 2019 and have written music in many settings and styles. My biggest inspirations are (jazz) Wayne Shorter, Bill Evans, Gil Evans, (classical) Frederic Chopin, Nikolai Kapustin, (modern) Louis Cole, Snail's House, (vgm) Animal Crossing, and honestly, just all of Nintendo's music.

The last piece I was able to write for my university's jazz combo! This time a feature for soprano saxophone. I very quickly wrote the main musical material, a simple 16 bars with a melody based around a falling perfect fourth (inspired by modern tunes like E.S.P, Maiden Voyage, Dolphin Dance, and Nefertiti).
Around this time is when I realized just how incredible of a writer Wayne Shorter was. Both Dave Liebman and Jazz at the Lincoln Center have great tribute albums. (If you listen to the Dave Liebman one you'll see how much I "stole" lol).
A game I developed solo in 7 hours for the 201st Mini Jam, hosted by ZahranW. The game is a tense sprint where you hurridly try to keep up with repairs and prevent the city dam from collapsing.
I wrote the music to be almost unsettling but driving to match this vibe!
Created in a week for the 6th 1-bit jam. Cotton Antivirus is a Paper Please like game, where you must work against a clock and process files according to your protocol.
I wanted to write something that would not become annoying after looping over and over. So, taking inspiration from Balatro, the theme is in odd meter (5/4).
Loro is a feature for flugelhorn. An instrument best described as a mix between trumpet and horn, and 10x as hard to play in tune. A lot of music inspired me for this tune: Crystal Silence, Dienda, Miles Ahead and Infant Eyes most notably. I'm quite proud of this arrangement, especially the ending - with how it subtly grows during the flugel solo, then explodes into the melody, then sweetly ends in duet.
Loro means parrot in Spanish! I didn't write this piece with birds in mind though. I'm bad with titles, I like to write music and then name them after ^^
The second piece I wrote for my combo. The piece is divided into two main sections, the beginning Eb lydian section and the ending vamp that sticks with two chords, Ebmaj7#11 and Em11, which works because they both share 3 crucial notes (G, A, and D).
My main inspirations were Asuka Kakitani (particularly her chart, Dragonfly's Glasses, a modern jazz arrangment of an old Japanese folk tune) and Louis Cole (who inspired the ending and some of the grooves).
The first piece I wrote for my jazz combo! Quite daunting and a LOT of work, but highly educational and rewarding. Easily my worst of my 4 combo pieces, but still highly charming and fun. My main complaint is the structure. The many style changes are intentional, but it doesn't feel cohesive or directional, but meandering.
I structured it as a Theme and Variation! The piece goes through many styles but maintains that main melody that you can most clearly hear at the beginning. Can you hear it in the other sections?
My friend, Femboy Pumpkin, makes some great custom Mario Kart tracks. This was a fun project, him as the game designer, and me writing the music. The track is formed in the shape of Mito the cat, a beloved, polygonal cat I designed many years ago.
This tune has some similiarities to Daisy Circuit Theme (unintentional) and the Brasil '66 arrangement of Tristeza (intentional). Some of the instruments are directly from Mario Kart: Super Circuit, and some are from Animal Crossing!
The original game is not available, so check out Mito Maul Madness, the improved version I made in 2025. Turns out it's hard to make a fighter game by yourself (they're so complicated...) so it's pretty barebones.
This one is pretty old and rough around the edges, but I'm still proud of it!
